Theorists and Theory. Why?

Theorist : Vladmir Propp

Vladmir Propp theory is that you can jusitfy the identities of character roles like: the hero, heroine, villian, helper and a donar. This theory was first established in 1920 and the character has to complete a quest or achieve something. The hero in this film is obviously Marcus and the villain is his foe Majestic who was his former boss. Marcus's quest is too run away from this type of lifestyle but mainly representation of being a drug dealer.

Theorist : Antonio Gramsci

Gramsci was a political theorists but also, a well known Italian writer. He was highly fascinated by the Marxism theory. He also decided to reown and develop the theory of cultural hegemony.

Marxism - refers to the philosophy and social theory

Cultural Hegemony- is looking at society and how one cultural group can dominate society and everybody practices to be like.
