Social context
As seen in contemporary Hip-Hop the Black people have been represented to having a very luxurious and easy life style. This type of culure has shown hem to have expensive houses, jewellery and cars depicting a utopia world. However, from previous films we have seen that Black people have been represented as low class people, who deal with drugs nowdays time has developed and changed. In this film, Black people have been seen to be living in a poor condition with a big family i.e. when Marcus lives with his grandparents and has to share a bed. However, from selling drugs Marcus then can indulge in buying expensive goods i.e. a Mercedes. This is showing the transition from Black people working and buying less glamourous things to buying goods that people can only aspire to have.
